Garage Sale

We learned a very important lesson over the past couple weeks:  CRAIG'S LIST ROCKS!  For example, before Grant moved out, he had me post a washer and dryer on-line for sale.  We had FOUR calls within about a half hour of posting the item!  And so began our relationship with Craig's List.

We had a garage sale on Sunday, March 20.  But before the big day, we took our big ticket items and listed them on Craig's List.  That way, we could post a higher number and see if anyone bites at it.  If not, we could sell it at the garage sale for less.

I was the advertising campaign manager:

So ahead of time, we were able to sell a queen size sleigh bed, a telescope, an entire queen size bedroom set, and a pool table.  We still had plenty left to sell though...

As you can see from the picture, we had two sets of patio furniture, a kitchen table set, and a futon.  The futon sold easily and quickly at the garage sale.  The remaining three tables did not receive ANY interest though. So I quickly listed all 3 on Craig's List, during the garage sale, and ended up selling two of them via that method.

We donated the remaining items to Veterans who are suffering from Spinal Cord injury.
